This page will track our goals and work to the calendar. As instructor, I reserve the right to make adjustments to the calendar to improve our experience this term. Any changes will be thoroughly communicated and posted here within.

HOMEWORK

  • Make arrangements. This class will take a considerable amount of time in the lab outside of class periods. This will involve hours of time on the lab machines which can only be used during the Monitored hours. Make arrangements now in your schedule (work, child care, etc.) to make sure you can attend these hours.
  • READING and RESPONSE: see project page for details
    Read Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproduction - Walter Benjamin. Write a critical response to Benjamin's text. Details of essay on project page. Post it on your blog.
  • Preparation and research for Project 1. Sketches are a good idea (hint, hint); blog it please.
  • Start drawing in Adobe illustrator, drawing due next week for machine rendereing, size to be announced in class.
